AGED 13, Amy Winehouse attended the Sylvia Young Theatre School, in North London, and had dreams of making it big in showbiz.

Along with Billie Piper, Amy’s star burned brightest, before the tragic singer’s untimely death last month at the age of just 27.

Two of her class were Cypriot girls. One was Natasha Anastasiades (Pictured above) a 22 year old singer who died when a learner driver friend crashed into a tree on Mother’s Day in 2005.

Natasha had been completing the final song on her first album on the day she died. Her family hope to release a tribute Album in September and amy Winehouse was set to contribute. Her Father Mario a University lecturer and musician said, “Amy rang me 6 months ago and said she wanted to help. She and Natasha were close and we were waiting for a song that Amy wrote”. Natasha whose parents are from Nicosia was part of the girl group In 2 You.  She performed on the Pepsi Chart show and Pop 2000 and produced own singles notably Into You , Unbelievable and call me. She also appeared on TV in Grange Hill, east Enders and had a part in the film Evita.

Sapphire Elia (Pictured above)  was the other Cypriot Girl in Amy’s class. Sapphire at the tender age of 24 is a showbiz veteran. Modelling from the age of three for the likes of D&G. She appeared in a McDonalds ad aged nine and went onto roles in West End musicals such as Les Miserables, and on TV in East Enders and Dream Team..

Sapphire is currently on screen in Emmerdale playing Mia Macey.
