Road Accidents – Deaths in Cyprus

The number of deaths in road accidents in 2010 decreased compared to 2009 despite the fact that the number of road accidents increased in 2010 compared to 2009, according to the annual report ‘’Transport Statistics’’ for the year 2010 published Thursday by the Statistical Service.

The report provides detailed information on the economic developments of the broad transport sector as well as data on the registration of motor vehicles by type and category, road accidents, shipping and aviation activities and transportation of goods and passengers.

According to the report, the broad τransport sector registered in 2009 an increase of 0,2% on the gross output at current prices and amounted to 1.748,2 mn euro in 2009, compared with 1.744,9 mn euro in 2008.
