Businesses in Palmers Green, Cockfosters and Southgate who took the initiative to close early as a precaution, after rumours on social networking sites that rioters could attempt to attack shops there yesterday ended up thankfully with no trouble spots. Palmers Green was empty all the shops closed. Southgate with KFC and the Witherspoon pub that stayed open.
In Cockfosters all the Restaurants stayed open Prezzo, Desiree, Blue Olive, Hunters, Brooklyns, Miracles, Red Pepper , the Indian and of course the local fish and chip shop. Even although all open there was very few customers. I saw the shop Car Phone warehouse in Cockfosters had its window smashed from Sunday night, and So Chic the Furniture shop was being boarded up.
Further down the road in Hampden Square Seafresh the fish and chip shop was having its reopening night and was very busy.
In Palmers Green more shops were being boarded up.
I made my way down to Holloway and it seemed Wood Green and Haringay was working with all the restaurants and Grocery shops open and plenty of people around.
