A MAN has been found lying injured in the road by a family out on a walk.Paramedics from Potters Bar and WGC were called to a dirt track running alongside railway lines close to Hawkshead Lane, near Brookmans Park, after a family of four discovered a man lying injured beside a bicycle yesterday morning (Sunday).
Ambulances arrived shortly after the call at 10.20am, and the Essex Air Ambulance was also called to fly the man to the Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel.
His condition was described as serious.
Ambulance spokesman Gary Sanderson said: “We were alerted to the scene by a family who were walking nearby when the found the man lying next to his bike, he was in a serious condition.
“Due to this, the Essex Air Ambulance was called upon to assist in his treatment at the scene.”
Emergency care practitioner Mark Giddens added: “I wish to pass on my thanks to the members of the public who gave aid to the man before my arrival, their help was much appreciated.”
