Three robbers made away with €35,000 from a bank in Limassol, not forgetting to thank the cashiers.
According to the head of the local Criminal Investigation Department, Yiannis Georgiou, three people walked into a branch of the Hellenic Bank at Linopetra and, brandishing a sword, a knife and probably a fake gun, asked the two cashiers to hand over the money.
The latter complied and as soon as they had put the money in a bag they said ‘thank you’ and fled on foot.
Two of the robbers had their faces covered with just a cap, while the third did not bother to hide it at all. They spoke in broken Greek in an accent that sounded Arabic. There were two customers in the bank at the time of the robbery.
Georgiou said the mode of action of the robbers resembled to other bank robberies in Limassol and Larnaca.
