Apoel won the first title of the season in their Nicosia derby with Omonia with the only goal coming in the 81st minute from Apoel defender Christou Konti with a close range shot.
This was an exceptional derby with both teams having good chances. In the first half Omonia had the better chances with Serfa heading against the Apoel cross bar , Renchifo, Leandro and Efrem also had good chances.
The second half exploded in the 56th minute when Apoel’s penalty claim was not given and it took the 81st minute goal to decide the game.
