The number of passengers at the international airports of Larnaka and Pafos has increased by 5.6% during the first seven months of 2011 compared to the corresponding period in 2010.
In statements to the press Tuesday, Cyprus airports Spokesman Adamos Aspris, said that there is a significant increase in the number of passengers at the two international airports of Cyprus, which also indicates an increase in tourism.
He added that the Pafos International Airport recorded an increase in passengers of 9%, while the Larnaka International Airport recorded an increase of 5%. New destinations like Saint Petersburg, Barcelona and regional airports of Britain like Manchester and Gatwick showed an increase of 20%.
Aspris said that more than a million passengers are expected to use the two Cypriot airports in August. The number of aircraft using the two airports will rise to 175 daily.
