The British House of Commons will discuss the issue of missing persons in Cyprus on Wednesday, July 13, 2011. The discussion will take place after an initiative of the conservative Member of the Parliament Mike Freer.

Minister for Europe David Lidington is expected to speak in the discussion, which is to take place at 16:00, on behalf of the British Government.

The discussion coincides with the demonstrations of the Cypriot community for the 37th anniversary from the military coop in Cyprus on July 15, 1974, and the Turkish invasion that followed. The Cypriot community organizes a march at the central avenues of London and a rally at Trafalgar square, during which British Members of the Parliament and the Cyprus Government Spokesman Stephanos Stephanou will provide speeches.

The discussion on the issue of missing persons in Cyprus, in the House of Commons, was announced on Wednesday, at a meeting of the inter-parliamentary group for Cyprus.
