The second shipment of electric generators arrived this morning at the port of Limassol to increase Cyprus’ electricity capacity after the deadly blast at the Naval Base Evaggelos Florakis, which destroyed the island’s main power plant at Vassiliko.
Overall, the power generating capacity supplied by the Greek Public Power Corporation (ΔΕΗ) as part of the Greek offer of assistance following the 11th July tragedy will arrive in Cyprus in four separate shipments.
Once installed, the equipment from Greece will have a nominal generating capacity of 70 MW.
A big thank you to Greece.
