Cyprus has secured three gold medals during Thursday’s Special Olympics, taking place in Athens, thus raising the Cypriot delegation’s score to eight gold medals so far.

Maria Kyriacou and Christina Vasiliou clinched the gold medal in Cycling 500M Time Trial, Division F03 and Division F04 respectively, while Petros Christodoulides secured the gold in Swimming 50 M backstroke.

Erricos Kyriakou secured Cyprus’ first medal in track and field, clinching silver medal in Shotput-Men 4 Kg.
