Cypriot champions APOEL will be aiming to cement their place in the third qualifying round of the Champions League t night when they defend a 2-0 lead at home to Skenderbeu.
Ivan Jovanovic’s side are one foot in the next round where they will face Slovakian champions Slovan Bratislava but will first need to negotiate their way past the champions of Albania.
Leading 2-0 from the first leg in Korce, the Nicosia club are overwhelming favourites to advance and coach Jovanovic will likely rest Marcinho who is injured allowing Aldo Adorno his first start since joining in the summer from Apollon.
Europa League representatives Anorthosis and AEK will be in action on Thursday. Both sides are also in the third qualifying round of the competition barring any huge upset. Anorthosis lead 3-0 from the first leg against Gagra of Georgia while AEK thrashed Maltese minnows Floriana 8-0 in their first leg encounter in Malta.
Anorthosis will take on Rabotnicki in the next round, AEK will face the Czech Republic’s Plovdiv while Omonia will begin their campaign against Dutch
