The Greek community of America, and especially the Greek-Cypriot community is in a constant vigilance and gives a continuous battle to promote a proper solution to the Cyprus problem, Archbishop of America, Demetrios, stated on Thursday.

Demetrios, who was speaking after a meeting he held with Cyprus Archbishop Chrysostomos II, earlier today at the Archbishopric, he stressed that the Cypriot community in America plays a significant role in the promotion of orthodoxy and global Hellenism in America.

The Archbishop of Cyprus Chrysostomos II said that during the meeting they exchanged views on issues regarding church, and thanked the Archbishop and the Greek community of America for their interest in the Cyprus problem.

After the meeting, the Archbishop of Cyprus held a luncheon to honor the Archbishop of America, also attended by Greek Ambassador to Cyprus, Vassilis Papaioannou and American Ambassador Frank C. Urbancic.
