Spain will continue to maintain the same policy on Cyprus it has defended so far, the new Ambassador of Spain Ana Maria Salomon Perez, has said, as she presented her credentials to President Demetris Christofias.

«The Spanish government gives full support and follows with great interest the current negotiations on the Cyprus problem and wishes that political will and open dialogue may bring about a fair and lasting agreement to achieve the reunification of the whole territory of Cyprus, based on a bizonal, bicommunal federal state, according to the relevant UN Security Council resolutions,” the Ambassador said.

“Spain maintains and will maintain towards Cyprus and the Cypriot issue the same policy it has defended so far,” she added.
