Skolars take on second placed Keighley whose manager is Australian Cypriot Jason Demetriou this Sunday at home. Skolars have taken 4 points from a possible 6 from top 4 teams in the last 2 games. Keighley were also beaten last weekend by Rochdale who were well beaten two weeks ago by a rampant Skolars.

Jason Demetriou is a rugby league footballer who is a former captain of Wakefield Trinity Wildcats, he is currently player/manager for Keighley Cougars His usual position is loose forward, and he can also play centre or stand off. He was Wakefield’s player of the season in 2006 and 2007 and was named in the Super League Dream Team in 2007 as well as being nominated for the Man of Steel award. Jason was awarded a 3 month testimonial at the Wildcats for the end of the 2010 season, as a reward for all of his hard work and dedication to English rugby league. Demetriou’s most famous moment in a Wildcats shirt came in 2006 when he scored a late try against local rivals Castleford Tigers to keep Wakefield in the Super League, and to also relegate Castleford at the same time. This moment was captured and a large copy of the photo is on display outside John Kear’s office at the Wildcats. Demetriou has previously played for Widnes Vikings, Rochdale Hornets and Lancashire Lynx
