Government Spokesman Stephanos Stephanou said Monday that President Demetris Christofias firmly believes that the government’s cooperation with the Democratic Party (DIKO) can continue and be even more effective.

In statements to journalists after a meeting held at the Presidential Palace between President Christofias and DIKO President –and former President of the House of Representatives – Marios Garoyian, Stephanou described the meeting as friendly and creative, saying that they discussed about the economic package, announced by the government last December, as well as about the Cyprus problem.

“The President’s position is that the cooperation with DIKO can continue and be effective for Cyprus and its citizens. We discuss, we have a dialogue and when there is a dialogue, there are prospects“, he pointed out
