Commerce, Industry and Tourism Minister Antonis Paschalides has said that there are great prospects to improve commercial, tourism and investment relations between Cyprus and Italy.

In statements after a working breakfast, here with Italian investors, organized by Cyprus Investment Promotion Agency (CIPA), at the presence of Italian Ambassador to Cyprus Alfredo Bastianelli, Paschalides said the Italian investors expressed their satisfaction over the quality of services offered to businesses in Cyprus.

Paschalides said that commercial, tourism and investment relations between Cyprus and Italy could improve through the cooperation of interested parties and by organizing seminars.

On his part, Bastianelli noted that Italy is the second biggest exporter in Cyprus, something that contributes to mutual investments, and noted the need that Italian businesses use Cyprus’ strategic position for their activities in markets in the broader region.

As regards the issue of tourism, the Italian Ambassador described Cyprus as a superb destination and noted that the flow of tourists can be increase in a sustainable way.
