Ten men were arrested in Ayia Napa on Monday for allegedly assaulting a group of police officers.
According to the report, at around 10.30pm members of the Rapid Reaction Unit were dispatched to investigate reports of a group of around 20 youths who had been causing a disturbance in the town’s square.
When the officers attempted to speak to the gang they were attacked with wooden bats and pepper spray.
The suspects are set to be brought before court for a remand hearing on Tuesday.
