A TOTAL of 1,040 telecards worth €8,500 and €240 in cash were confiscated by the police at Larnaca’s ‘Palm Tree’ beachside strip on Wednesday afternoon.

Three Indian nationals were spotted by the police at around 5pm “looking suspicious.” Police searched their belongings and found a bag with the money and telecards.

The trio admitted to have been looking for customers who would buy the telecards.

They were taken to Larnaca District Court yesterday and were remanded for six days.

Larnaca CID is investigating.
