Panayiotis Poyiadzis won the Challenge Shield with an amazing score of 40 points to claim his first major trophy since joining the Cypriot Golf Society. He told the newspaper “After three holes I told my playing partners, Michael Tsangarides, Nick Spyrou and Kyriacos Skaros that I like this golf course I felt very comfortable on the course, my drives were always in the fairway and luckily went in the bunkers only twice. Had some luck as well with the ball bouncing in my favour . The best part of my game was my putting. I had the feel for the greens, sunk a few long putts which made all the difference to my score especially in the front 9. I feel very proud and very happy to have won. Now that I got this win under my wing I will be looking to get more. It’s taken me 12 long years to win but it was worth the wait”.
