Noble prizewinner Christopher Pissarides was the guest of honour of the Cyprus America Chamber of Commerce in New York on Saturday evening. Pissarides stated that Cyprus have had many diffulties because of the Cyprus problems. Its close ties with Greece and their problems do not help especially in the banking sector. He also spoke on the International financial crisis.

Present at the event were the US Ambassador to Cyprus Paul Anastasiades, Consul General of Greece in the USA Aki Balti . The President, Chairman and Secretary of the Cyprus American Chamber of Commerce . Dennis Droussiotis, Andreas Comodromos and Despina Axiotakis.

The President of the Cyprus Federation of America Peter Papanicolaou was also present.
