The leaders of the two communities in Cyprus, President of the Republic Demetris Christofias and Turkish Cypriot leader Dervis Eroglu, will meet Thursday in the framework of the UN-backed direct negotiations for a solution to the Cyprus problem.

The meeting will take place at the residence of the Special Representative of the UN Secretary General in Cyprus, Liza Buttenheim, in the UN-protected area of Nicosia Airport.

The two leaders are expected to continue their discussions on the internal aspects of security.

After their previous meeting, which took place on the 27th of April, Special Representative of the UN Secretary General Liza Buttenheim told reporters that the leaders had “a good discussion on the internal aspects of security”, which they will continue at their next meeting.
