EUROPEAN SMALL STATES GAMES – CYPRUS

Cyprus, represented by 118 athletes competing in 10 sports, is participating in the 14th Games of the Small States of Europe, to be held in Liechtenstein from May 30 to June 4.

During a press conference, Cyprus Olympic Committee President Ouranios Ioannides said that the Cypriot team is departing for Lichtenstein and the goal is to retain its top ranking in gold medals and in the total number of medals.

According to a COC announcement, Ioannides said this would be a difficult target to achieve, noting that in the past, Cyprus ranked first in only 5 out of 13 games. He added, however, that it is encouraging that the country topped the bill during the past four sports events, saying that the aim for this year is to repeat this success.

Cyprus will participate in the 14th Games of the Small States of Europe in athletics, cycling, judo, shooting, squash, swimming, table tennis, tennis, volleyball and beach volleyball.
