An attempt to murder a 52 years old Russian businessman  who has been resident in Larnaca for the past 15 years, with a high-powered explosive device was made this morning Tuesday in the tourist area of Pyla, seriously injuring him with wounds to the legs and abdomen. An ambulance was called and he was taken to Larnaca General Hospital. 

It appears that the perpetrators knew the route made by the Russian daily, as he used to do a walk and swim in the sea in this area.
