A 58-year-old Turkish Cypriot living in Larnaca was arrested and remanded in custody in connection with the premeditated murder of his 39-year-old Greek Cypriot companion. According to press reports they have been living together for 15 days.
According to the police, around 23.10 pm last night Wednesday  the 58-year-old said that while he and his companion were drinking in their home, the woman lost consciousness at around 22.00 the 58 year old tried to resuscitate her with no avail.
Police went to the scene where the woman was found dead seated in an armchair.
After thorough examinations at Larnaca hospital a two-centimeter wound was found under the left breast of the victim. According to Police, the coroner was called to examine the corpse found that the wound was caused by a sharp instrument. Police are continuing to investigate.
