| China supports Cyprus’ independence and territorial integrity and a solution to the Cyprus problem on the basis of a federation, Deputy Chief of the Armed Forces of China, General Ma Xiaotian has said.Cypriot Defence Minister Costas Papacostas said there is room for further cooperation between Cyprus and China even in the military field, describing the preparation of a defence agreement between the two countries as the corner stone of this cooperation.
Papakostas met on Tuesday with a delegation of the Ministry of Defence of the People`s Republic of China, headed by General Ma Xiaotian According to an official announcement issued here today, the Cypriot Defence Minister welcomed the delegation to Cyprus and expressed thanks for China’s support to Cyprus, especially in the framework of the United Nations. |
