Cyprus participated in joint operational activities at European level to combat human trafficking and labour exploitation that were coordinated by Europol, which took place between May 31 and June 6.

According to a Cyprus police press release one operation was conducted in Cyprus during, which one individual was arrested and eight possible victims of human trafficking were identified. The case has been filed in Nicosia District Court. It`s being investigated by the Office of Combating Human Trafficking.

Law enforcement authorities by 23 countries participated in the operations and a total of 229 persons were arrested (73 for the offence of human trafficking), while 630 possible victims of human trafficking were identified.
