Cyprus on Friday announced 3 more deaths from COVID-19 and 289 new cases. The number of hospitalizations are 111 and 17 patients are in critical condition.

From the 289 cases, the 56 are confirmed rapid tests with PCR method. One rapid test came  back negative.

There are a total of 10 positive rapid tests found at a care home in Peristerona, but remain to be confirmed via PCR.
 
A press release by the Health Ministry says that an 84 year old female and a 78 year old male, with no underlying conditions are among the deceased. They were getting treatment at the ICU of the Nicosia General Hospital. A 94 year old female with underlying conditions lost her life. She was at the Limassol General Hospital after her transfer form Peristerona Care Unit.

So far 57 people lost their lives to COVID-19 , 37 males (65%), and 20 female (35%) and the median age is
76 years old.

A total of 111 patients are getting treatment in hospitals island wide and 17 are in critical condition. Thirteen are intubated , two are in ICUs and 4 in the Advanced Care Unit.
 
The 289 cases were confirmed from a total of 3,848 PCR tests as follows:

90 from 795 samples in the framework of contact tracing, 110 from 1,772 tests on private initiative, 20  cases from 303 samples from the Microbiological Labs of the General Hospitals, 7 from 456 tests done at schools, 4 from 87 samples at residents of Kato Pyrgos, 2 from 37 tests from GP referrals and checks at public health clinics and 56 confirmed from 57 rapid tests of the previous days.
 
Νο cases were found in 299 tests done at airports, and in 41 tests done at closed units and homes.

The number of rapid tests today were 5,714 and 176 came back positive but remain to be confirmed via PCR.
