The fifth round of the Cyprus first division would have come to a close on Monday night, with a game between Olympiakos Nicosia and Pafos FC capping off the weekend matches before it.

Although Olympiakos’ home game will go ahead later, unfortunately, due to an alarmingly high number of positive coronavirus cases among top-flight football players, especially at clubs Nea Salamina and Ethnikos Achnas, four out of a total of seven fifth round games were postponed, with further rescheduling seeming like an unavoidable necessity.

On Friday night, Karmiotissa Polemidion won their first game of the season beating  Enosis Neon Paralimniou 2-1.

A good win for AEK beat AEL 2-1 with their star striker Macedonian international Ivan Trichovski reaching a century of goals for his club AEK who he has been playing for since 2016. AEL took the lead in the 24th minute through Riera. Makris equalised for AEK in the 34th minute and the centurion Trichovski scored the winner for AEK in the 68th minute.

In the final game of the weekend Monday Olympiakos Nicosia beat Pafos 2-1 Olympiakos goals came in the 60th and 76th minute respectively from Mantzis and Gustavo. with Pafos scoring in added time through Valakari.
