Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a fire at a house on Woodside Lane in North Finchley.

Part of the ground floor of a detached house and part of an attached single-storey garage were damaged by the fire. A car was also destroyed. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus led one man and one woman to safety and they were treated on scene for smoke inhalation by London Ambulance Service crews.

The Brigade’s 999 Control Officers took 15 calls to the fire.

The Brigade was called at 1756 and the fire was under control by 1922. Fire crews from  Finchley, Barnet and Southgate fire stations were at the scene.

The fire is believed to be accidental and caused by an electrical fault in a vehicle.
