† DEATH ANNOUNCEMENT

Yiannoulla Skorti 

(from Prastio, Famagusta) Our beloved mother and grandmother sadly passed away on Sunday 26 April 2020 at the age of 90, at Azalea Court Care Home, leaving an empty space in all our hearts. Born in Prastio – Famagusta, Cyprus, she came to the UK in 1958 and was a familiar face within the Greek Orthodox Church community of St John the Theologian in Hackney where she helped for over a decade. Yiannoulla was well loved and respected by all who knew her and will be remembered for her strong character, her generosity and kindness. She leaves behind her daughter Androulla, grandchildren Louca, Yiannoulla, Chris, Maria and Joanna, 9 great-grandchildren, a great-great-granddaughter, Goddaughter Maria, nieces, nephews and many relatives and friends. Due to the current restrictions in place, a private funeral service for immediate family will be held on Thursday 11th June 2020 at St John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church, Wightman Road, London N8 0LY, followed by the burial at New Southgate Cemetery. For those wishing to send flowers, please send to Demetriou & English Funeral Directors, 131-133 Myddleton Road, London N22 8NG, by 5pm on Wednesday 10th June 2020. A memorial service will be held in the future.

† ΑΓΓΕΛΙΑ ΘΑΝΑΤΟΥ – ΚΗΔΕΙΑ

Γιαννούλλα Σκορτή 

(από το Πραστειό, Αμμόχωστος) Με μεγάλη θλίψη αναγγέλλουμε τον θάνατο της αγαπημένης μας Γιαννούλλας Σκορτή η οποία απεβίωσε την Kυριακή 26 Απριλίου στον οίκο ευγηρίας Αzalea Court σε ηλικία 90 ετών. Αφήνει την θυγατέρα της Αντρούλλα, εγγόνια: Λούκα, Γιαννούλλα, Κρίς, Μαρία και Jοanna, 9 δισέγγονα, τρισέγγονο, βαφτιστήρα Μαρία, ανίψια και πολλούς συγγενείς και φίλους. Η Γιαννούλλα γεννήθηκε στο Πραστειό Αμμοχώστου και το 1958 ήρθε στην Βρετανία. Για δεκαετίες ήταν ενεργό μέλος της εκκλησιαστικής κοινότητας του Αγίου Ιωάννου του Θεολόγου στο Ηackney. Η εκλιπούσα λάμβανε σεβασμό από όλους όσοι την γνώρισαν. Θα την θυμόμαστε για τον δυναμικό της χαρακτήρα, την καλοσύνη και την γενναιοδωρία της. Άφησε ένα μεγάλο κενό στις καρδιές μας. Ας αναπαυθεί εν ειρήνη. Η κηδεία της θα γίνει την Πέμπτη 11 Ιουνίου 2020 στην εκκλησία του Αγίου Ιωάννη του Βαπτιστή στο Wightman Rοad και η ταφή στο κοιμητήριο του New Southgate. Λόγω της τρέχουσας κατάστασης της πανδημίας του Κορωνοϊού, μόνο οι στενοί συγγενείς της εκλιπούσας θα μπορέσουν να παρακολουθήσουν την νεκρώσιμο ακολουθία στην εκκλησία και στο κοιμητήριο. Όποιος επιθυμεί μπορεί να στείλει λουλούδια στο Demetriou & English, 131/133 Myddleton Road, Wood Green, London N22 8NG μέχρι την Tετάρτη 10 Ιουνίου 2020, 5μμ. Όταν το επιτρέψουν οι συνθήκες θα διοργανώσουμε μνημόσυνο εις μνήμην της.
