Haringey Council is showing their appreciation to the brave and hardworking NHS workers and Care Workers, by laying down a series of road markings to say, ‘Thank You’, at key locations around the borough.

The markings help to symbolise how grateful people in Haringey are for the NHS and Care Workers, who are on the frontline helping to battle the coronavirus and are caring for our most vulnerable people.

These road markings add to the weekly ‘Clap for Carers’ which happens across the UK every Thursday at 8pm, to show appreciation and boost morale for the NHS doctors, nurses, cleaners, and other healthcare staff on the frontline.

The markings, which were designed and laid with the support of contractor, Marlborough, were placed at key locations below, to ensure that that NHS workers and Care Workers get an opportunity to see them.

  • St Ann’s Road, N15 outside the hospital entrance
  • St Paul’s Road, N17 outside the Olive Grove & Eden Care Home
  • Park Road, N8 outside the NHS Health Centre
  • Bounds Green Road Outside the Ambulance Station

Cllr Chandwani, Cabinet Member for Neighbourhoods at Haringey Council, said:

“We know from the cheers, horns and fireworks every week that residents in Haringey are deeply grateful for the hard work of the NHS and Care Workers. Having these markings across the borough echoes the appreciation from the Haringey community and serves as a daily reminder the sacrifice these dedicated workers are making. I’d like to thank Marlborough Highways for making this possible”

Cllr James, Cabinet Member for Adults and Health at Haringey Council, said:

“I have been truly impressed by the fantastic work and dedication of Haringey’s care workers who have continued to provide care whether in residents’ own homes or in our care homes, throughout this crisis despite the risks they face. Thank you!”
