Seventy two Cypriot citizens were repatriated on Monday on board an Aegean flight which landed at Larnaka airport, around 1630 hours local time (1330 GMT).

The Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Transport, Communications and Works had announced that after coordinated efforts it was possible to gather 26 people in Doha, Qatar to travel to Athens from the following countries: 17 from Australia, 3 from Qatar, 2 from the Philippines, 1 from China, 1 from Japan, 1 from Korea and 1 from Sri Lanka.

Passengers  boarded the Aegean flight and traveled from Athens to Larnaka together with another 46 Cypriots who were repatriated from Greece.

The flight from Athens to Larnaka was provided by Aegean and Hellenic Petroleum.

Those citizens who were abroad for medical reasons will be self isolated for 14 days. The rest were transferred to hotels and will stay in quarantine for 14 days.
