Omonia took a giant step towards lifting The KOPA League Title with 3-1 victory over Olympia.
A massive Omonia support , including members of Omonia Nicosia Supporters Club , saw them get off to a flying start , boxing Olympia into their own half and creating a number of chances, before Antonio broke the deadlock , sliding the ball beyond the keeper following a delightful run from the halfway line.
Antonio was now unplayable , giving the left back nightmares , and he was rewarded again , following another mazy run into the box before being brought down. Luke Prokopiou coolly dispatched the penalty. 2-0.
On 30 mins , the best move of the match , involving half a dozen players , finished with Luke Prokopiou scoring his second goal and Omonia going into half time at 3-0.
Olympia are a very good side and we knew that , even at 3-0 , this match was not done just yet. This proved correct on the hour , with Omonia missing chances to make it 4-0 , Including a rocket from Jamie Nelson from fully 40 yards , which smacked against the cross bar , Olympia broke and scored to make it 3-1 through Louca. Olympia now sniffed a comeback.
Then came the pivotal moment of the match. Olympia were awarded a penalty with 20 mins left. Elia stepped up to take it , and , as in the corresponding fixture, Serxhio Kuqo pulled off a Fantastic save and was sharply up to save the follow up.
Omonia were reduced to 10 men soon after , which gave Olympia even more urgency , but this was cancelled out by an Olympia Red with 10 mins left.
Chances were few and far between after that and the ref called an end to proceedings to celebrations from the Omonia Players and Supporters.
Omonia now need to focus on their next fixture in two weeks time and not get carried away. Three matches left , nine points to play for.

APOEL beat Panathinaikos 5-3 in a cracking game with Vincent Lwanga starting the ball rolling with a 10th minute goal with Panathinaikos equalising in the 26th minute going into the break 1-1.Straight after half time Panathinaikos were awarded a penalty and were able to score from it. Apoel equalised to 2-2 with Philip Kyriakides on the 54th min. Panathinaikos manage to go ahead in the 62nd minute from own goal. Apoel equalised making  it 3-3 in the 73 rd minute  with Michael Spenser and in added time George Lutaaya added another goal. to give Apoel a 5-3 win and still in the chase for the title.

Cinar left their winning form till the end of the season the two bottom of the table teams came up against each other and the blustery wind. Cinar settled quicker and rode their luck on half hour when a Sadik throw in defended by a Pantel defender looped over the Pantel keeper Jack Markou for 0-1. The second for Cinar came a few minutes later after a marauding run by Yannick Kamanan down the left finished off with a low shot for 0-2. Pantel pulled one back right at the end of the first half with a penalty. The second half saw Cinar once again in control. The third goal by Mark Summers was chested down and hit with a vengeance into the top left of Pantels goal, 1-3. Pantel made substitutes to change the game but Cinar carried on where they left off with Yannick hitting a thunderous shot low for 1-4. Soon after Pantels sub rounded the Cinar keeper for 2-4 . Cinar argued for offside but the goal was given. That didn’t stop Yannick Kamanan from completing his hatrick with another well taken shot. The game finished Pantel 2 Cinar 5.

Komi Kebir are looking good after two wins on the trot,  last week they beat Olympia and this week the Armenians and are full of confidence after winning 4-1 against the Armenians their goals coming from George Lakey and Marinos one each and Anthony Georgia scoring two goals.
