Their Royal Highnesses’ programme will include a visit to the UN Buffer Zone to acknowledge the peacekeeping work being undertaken by the UN and highlight initiatives which are building links between the communities of Cyprus, meeting both Greek – and Turkish-Cypriot community members.

His Royal Highness will also meet religious leaders from Cyprus’s diverse religious communities. The Duchess of Cornwall, as Patron of Battersea Dogs & Cats Home, will visit a partner organisation which has recently participated in the charity’s Battersea Academy to see how the organisation is implementing its learning in Cyprus. Her Royal Highness will also continue her work to highlight the issue of domestic violence and rape around the world and engage with organisations working to support survivors.

Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall have announced their next trip abroad: in mid-March, Charles will spend two days in Bosnia and Herzegovina; after that, Camilla will join him for official visits to The Republic of Cyprus and The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

Official royal visits are undertaken at the request of the UK government, and used as a tool for soft diplomacy. In a statement, Clarence House set out the intentions of this trip: the Prince of Wales is visiting Bosnia and Herzegovina to mark the 25th anniversary of the genocide, and that his stay there will “highlight reforms to improve citizens’ lives”; in Charles and Camilla’s first official visit to Cyprus, they will “recognize the work of the UN Peacekeeping Force and celebrate traditional Cypriot culture”; finally, in Jordan, the royal couple will “learn what the country is doing to support refugees and showcase its rich cultural history.”

Here, all the details of the couple’s itinerary that have been revealed thus far.
