Anorthosis of Famagusta achieved a great victory over APOEL of Nicosia for Match Day 16 of the Cyprus football League and remains at the top of the standings their goal came in the 63rd with a goal from substitute Theodoros Vasilakis.. Anorthosis were the big winners in Sunday’s heavyweight clash against Apoel thanks to a 63rd-minute goal by an unlikely hero, substitute Theodoros Vassilakakis. This win means Anorthosis are top four points clear of second-placed Omonia, seven from Apollon and nine points from champions Apoel, and moved a step closer to winning the title after a 12-year barren spell.

Apollon beat Olympiakos 2-0 twith both goals coming from Zelaya  one in each half coming from  in each half by Emilio Zelaya.

AEK Larnaca came from 2-0 down first half to beat Ethikos Achnas 5-2 four of AEK’s goals came from Triskovski and the other one from Garcia AEK equalised in the 58th minute and scored four goals in the last ten minutes to win comfortably. Etrhnikos goals came from Kostovski and Markovski.

In form Nea Salamina beat AEL 2-1 Kingsley had opened the score for Nea Salamina in the 11th minute with Texeira equalising midway through the second half.Ael had to play the final 30 minutes with 10 men after Zdravkovski was show a second yellow card and Nea Salamina English star Jay Simpson scored in the last five minutes of the game..

In the Friday game Omonia dropped two points drawing 0-0 with Pafos.
