Match Day 13 Report

Bedford 1 – 7 New Salamis

Salamina were on their travels again this time away to Bedford. It’s been a hectic week, with three matches. The Reds beset with injuries to the squad following a tough month.

Following on from their impressive 4-1 cup win over Shefford Town on Wednesday night, the start of this game was almost identical. A goal in the 1st and 5th Minutes.

On Wednesday we went 2-0 up within the first 5 minutes through Antonio and Xavier, today we did exactly the same through Deniz and Courtney. Courtney scoring a beautiful curled shot.

From there we were just majestic, breaking up play, pressing when we needed to and creating chances.

Goal 3 came in the 32 minute, Ryan intercepted play fed Antonio the ball he hit a wicked shot that was saved on the line and Deniz followed up to make it 3-0.

Half time score 3-0.

The second half started in the same manner, Courtney scoring another delicious curling shot for his second of the game and making it 4-0.
Luke Durnin then got in on the act bursting through the Bedford defence then lobbing the keeper got 5-0.

6-0 then followed when Courtney fired home for his Hat-trick and his 5th in two games after scoring a late brace on Wednesday.

Bedford the scores a consolation for 6-1 before George Lutaaya made it 7 for the Reds when Antonio squared for him in the box.

A comprehensive win for Salamina 7-1 away from home which gives them 3 vital points.
