Ilker Kilic sadly passes away

It is with shock, great sorrow and sadness that we learnt on Friday 27th September 2019, that our good friend and close associate, Ilker Kilic, passed away suddenly.

Ilker was a man of impeccable character, high principles, courage, integrity and vision. A passionate Cypriot, a fighter for social justice and a fearless advocate for the reunification of our common homeland, our beloved Cyprus, Ilker was steadfast in his support for Greek and Turkish Cypriot cooperation and a champion of community initiatives aimed at bringing all Cypriots together to work for unity and peace on our beautiful island.

Ilker’s passing will leave a huge void in the Cypriot community in the United Kingdom and is a big loss to the Movement for a United Cyprus committee.

Ilker Kilic was born on the 31st December 1945 in Paphos and was one of the first members of the Republican Turkish Party. He graduated from Middle East Technical University (METU) and was a qualified architect when he migrated to the UK in 1973. He spent the last 45 years actively involved within the political and communities areas.

We extend our sincere condolences to his family at this extremely difficult time.
