Cypriot society may not have felt it yet, but in distant Cambodia they are apparently enjoying the benefits of the “success story” of Mr. Anastasiades and his government.

According to a press report published yesterday by the international agency “Reuters”, the Anastasiades government has granted Republic of Cyprus passports to the Minister of Finance, the Chief of Police and other persons of the elite and family circle of the Cambodian Prime Minister.

The Anastasiades government is yet again giving Cyprus a bad name around the world with another scandal of the “golden passport” industry.

Despite the request made by “Reuters”, the government did not want or could not provide any answers about our… new compatriots, some of whom probably dont know where Cyprus is on the map. We hope that the government ruling forces will not proclaim that “Reuters” too is engaging in a libel war on the Anastasiades government.

Cypriot society expects to hear answers from the government on this issue, as we are also still waiting for answers regarding the Troika Laundromat scandal which links the law firm of Nikos Chr. Anastasiades to sinister money laundering cases worth billions.

What international organizations, European institutions and foreign press agencies are revealing and saying every so often confirm a very stark reality. Namely, that corruption and interwoven interests have become synonymous with the Anastasiades-DISY government.
