A fantastic response to Monday’s away defeat at Wingate as Boro put on a show in front of the highest league attendance thus far this season. The Boro faithful were treated to an excellent game as both the Boro and East Thurrock were full of attacking intent from the first whistle. With referee Alistair Wilson allowing play to continue at every available opportunity the best football of the season was on display , Boro started strongly and scored early when on 10 mins Olu Durojaiye threaded a wonderful through ball to the prolific Anthos Solomou who beat Giddens and scored his 4th goal in three games so far this season , Thurrock fought back and only couple of excellent saves from the dependable Pajetat and the crossbar kept the slender lead intact. The Boro goal seemed to be leading a charmed life and Thurrock demonstrated that they will be a force throughout the season. For all of the possession and threat posed by Thurrock Boro looked dangerous themselves on the break with McDonald on one wing and Froxylias on the other severely testing the Thurrock defenders. Boro were content to allow Thurrock possession and pushed when the ball entered the Boro half. On one such occasion on 44 minutes the impressive Georgios Aresti seized possession and went on a run from the halfway line straight through the heart of the Thurrock defence and with the aid of a deflection powered the ball into the top corner giving Giddens no chance at all. 2-0 halftime.

Boro began the second half well pushing forward looking to add to their tally , Thurrock then upped the pressure and led by the very strong Lewis Smith pushed for a way back into the game. The Boro defence including debutant Demetri stood firm and Pajetat in particular repelled every threat ,including another excellent save pushing the ball onto the bar and colliding with the same causing a lengthy stoppage in play as he received treatement. Boro threatened themselves with the pacey Ademiluyi returning from injury causing panic in the Thurrock back line however Giddens was not troubled too greatly as Boro managed the game to its conclusion. 3 very well deserved and hard earned points gained continuing the excellent start to the league campaign .

Boro line up:

Pajetat, Richards, Demetri ( Kisitu 80 ) ,Stone, Alexandrou, Rowe, Froxylias, Aresti, Solomou( Ademiluyi 74) , Durojaiye, McDonald(Akinola 82 )

Folkestone Invicta are sitting pretty at the top of the table one point ahead of Haringey Borough after a late Johan Ter Horst goal enabled a smash and grab at the Camping World Community Stadium. The only two unbeaten sides in the Division were going head to head, and then there was one, as Horsham didn’t have time to find an equaliser.
