Detectives have named the victim of a fatal collision in Camden as they continue to appeal for information. 

Officers were called at around 15:10hrs on Thursday, 4 April to reports of a lorry in collision with a pedestrian in Finchley Road.

The pedestrian was Alex Odogwu, aged 94.

Mr Odogwu, who lived locally, was pronounced dead at the scene. His next-of-kin have been informed.

The driver of the lorry stopped at the scene and continues to assist police with enquiries.

There have been no arrests.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Sid Acharya, of the Met’s Roads and Transport Policing Command, said: “This collision took place on a busy road and I am sure that there are people out there who have information that could help complete the picture we are building of the sequence of events that led to Mr Odogwu’s death.

“If you have any information at all, not matter how insignificant it may seem, please call me.”

Officers are keen to hear from anyone who has dash cam footage relating to the incident, or from anyone who witnessed the collision.
