Reds back to winning ways on the road


Match Day 4 Result:

Buckingham Athletic 2 – 4 New Salamis

The reds got back to winning ways away from home with a 4-2 win at Buckingham Athletic.

Salamina went into the lead in the 3rd minute when Charlie Georgiou nicked the ball off the keeper and fed the ball to his brother Richard who slotted the ball into an empty net. 1-0

The 2nd goal came in the 9th minute when John Kyriacou burst into the area and was felled. Up stepped Richard Georgiou and scored from the spot 2-0. We were very comfortable.

Buckingham then got a foothold in the game when a very dubious penalty was awarded and they made it 2-1 on the 17th minute mark.

The rest of the half was fiesty and over officious refereeing spoilt the game.

The second half saw debutant Connor Banacan join the game. Salamina started the brighter and Charlie Georgiou was brought down for a second penalty. Richard Georgiou slotted home again to complete his hat trick and make it 3-1 on 58 minutes. Goal 4 soon followed Connor started and finished a fantastic move for his first goal for 4-1 on 70 minutes.

Buckingham then lost their discipline and the captain was sent to the sin bin before they scored for 4-2 with 8 minutes left. They then had a player sent off for a crude challenge in the last minute.

Salamina back to winning ways.
