It is evident that Turkey is once again exploiting the prolonged deadlock that exists on the Cyprus problem, along with the fact that it is itself, unfortunately, relieved of any responsibilities to create new serious fait accompli on the ground.

What the Turkish side says about Famagusta violates both agreements and resolutions of the United Nations on the issue.

The government must take the appropriate measures to address Turkey’s machinations with regards Famagusta and at the same time it must act with determination towards the direction of resuming the negotiations precisely as the UN Secretary General has set out.
