CBBC young presenter and vlogger Nikki Christou scored a coup, securing an exclusive interview with Prime Minister Theresa May for her series, Nikki Lilly Meets…

She has also interviewd Raheem Sterling, Andy Murray, Jeremy Corbyn.

Nikki was honoured to be chosen to be one of the YouTube influencers at Prince William’s Stop-Speak-Support campaign to combat Cyberbullying.

The Duke of Cambridge launched a guide for children on how to cope with a “banter escalation scenario”, after bringing together social media giants to help combat cyberbullying.

And to cap it all this year she won an Emmy Award

My Life: Born To Vlog from Blakeway North in the U.K. won the factual award this year,

Manchester-based Blakeway North has achieved its first Emmy Award for the Nikki Christou vlog series CBBC My Life film ‘Born to Vlog’ featuring Nikki Lilly.

This is the latest acclaim for the show, which has already been shortlisted for a Bafta, picked up an RTS Award and won the international Prix Jeunesse for non-fiction television. It is also currently shortlisted for The Japan Prize

The programme follows 12-year-old Lilly, who has to fly to the United States every other month for complex surgery for Arteriovenous Malformation.

Shot over six months, it mixes ob-doc style filming, with her own video diaries and vlogs.

Since the show, Nikki has worked again with Blakeway on ‘Nikki Lilly Meets’, a 20-part series where she interviews everyone from the Prime minister to Nicole Scherzinger.

Sarah Murch, Executive Producer and MD of Blakeway North, said: “We are really thrilled – it is Blakeway North’s first Emmy.

“Nikki is an incredible and inspiring girl and charting her story is a privilege. The award nominations are a testament to Nikki and her wonderful family.”

The 2019 International Emmy Kids Awards were held at the Carlton Hotel in Cannes. Presenting the statues at the MIPTV event were TV personalities such as Mira Awad, creator of the drama series Muna, about a young Arab woman living in Tel Aviv; Lebanese TV host Annabella Hilal; and Finnish actor Pelle Heikkilä.

Nikki from London. As well as coping with her debilitating rare medical condition AVM which causes headaches, nosebleeds and swelling on one side of her face (requiring frequent hospital visits and operations in Denver and Great Ormond Street), she has won CBBC’s Junior Bake-Off, bagged a Pride of Britain Award presented by Mary Berry, and shared her life in a CBBC award-winning My Life Documentary, Born to Vlog!
