An urgent investigation has been launched following the fatal stabbing of a man in South Hampstead.

Police were called at around 2345hrs on Thursday, 25 July, to Boundary Road, NW8.

Officers attended and found a 20-year-old man and a 22-year-old man suffering stab injuries.

Both men were taken by London Ambulance Service to a London hospital, where the 20-year-old man was pronounced dead at 0037hrs.

Officers believe they know his identity and are in the process of informing his next of kin.

A post-mortem examination and formal identification will be arranged in due course.

The 22-year-old man is not thought to have been critically injured.

There has been no arrest at this stage and an urgent investigation is underway.
