Forty Hall Park has been recognised by the Green Flag Award Scheme as one of the very best parks in the world.

The Park, which contains a beautifully preserved seventeenth century manor house, is among a record-breaking 1,970 UK parks and green spaces and 131 in thirteen other countries around the world, that have received a prestigious Green Flag Award / Green Flag Community Award – the mark of a quality park or green space.

This international award, now into its third decade, is a sign to the public that the space boasts the highest possible environmental standards, is beautifully maintained and has excellent visitor facilities.

Forty Hall Park & Estate comprises of 273 acres, with woodland and parkland. Visitors can discover medieval fishing ponds, a walled garden, lake, children’s play area, Forty Hall Farm, a family-run cafe and more. With the park dating back 400 years, there is a wealth of history to be enjoyed. Forty Hall itself is a is a Grade 1 Listed Jacobean Manor House set within the leafy grounds.

Enfield Council’s Cabinet Member for Environment, Cllr Guney Dogan, said: “We know how much quality green spaces matter to residents and visitors, and this award celebrates the dedication that goes into Forty Hall Park to such a high standard.

“A special mention needs to go to all the volunteers who make such extraordinary efforts to maintain, cultivate and promote the Park.”
