A young artist had plenty of reasons to be cheerful after winning the Museum of Enfield’s exhibition competition.

Alexis Pangalos, five,  from Enfield won a bumper pack of art material including paints, pencils and colouring books from ArtStop an organisation which puts on art workshops for all ages at St Andrew’s Church in Southgate.

He scooped the prize after completing a Broomfield Bee trail around the ‘Hidden Treasures: Revealing Broomfield House and Park’ exhibition at the museum at the Dugdale Centre in Enfield to find 10 knitted bees and then unscrambling the letters with them to make word relating to the display.

For good measure Alexis also drew his own picture of a bee.

Deputy Leader of Enfield Council, Cllr Ian Barnes, said: “We are keen to encourage residents to learn more about the history of Enfield and the museum is a fantastic family friendly resource to have at our disposal.

“The displays our staff curate and manage are thought provoking and educational and very popular with children.

I’d like to congratulate Alexis for his un-BEE-lieveably brilliant investigative skills and to thank Lisa for the generous prize she donated and I’d urge people who haven’t yet visited to make a BEE-line for the museum.”
