A number of businesses from the Borough of Broxbourne were named winners for several categories at this year’s Inspiring Hertfordshire Awards. The award ceremony, which took place on 13 June, was held at St Albans Cathedral.

The Allendale Group Ltd. a family-owned company based in Hoddesdon was Highly Commended for the Business of the Year Small to Medium award, as well as the Digital Marketing Campaign of the Year award. The company’s success reached greater heights during the evening, with a deserving win of the Business of the Year East Herts award. Neighbouring contender Shepherds Property Sales & Lettings, based in Cheshunt and Hoddesdon, received the Highly Commended title for the same category.

Another business from the Borough to walk away with the winning title on the night was VolkerWessels UK. The leading multidisciplinary contractor, also based in Hoddesdon, received the award for Business of the Year Medium to Large.

Dobsons, a family-run business based in Cheshunt since 1935, specialist in the design and provision of luxury home improvements, was the proud winner of the Family Business of the Year Award. The Highly Commended title for this category went to Shepherds Property Sales & Lettings; the company was honoured to receive this level of recognition for the second time.

The Highly Commended title for the Most Promising New Business Award went to health, fitness and wellness company Carter & George Practice. The title is a great achievement for both co-founders who have worked hard to make elite medical treatment accessible for all.

Mayor of Broxbourne, Councillor Steve Wortley said: “We’re thrilled with the results obtained by all the Borough-based businesses at this year’s Inspiring Hertfordshire Awards, and send hearty congratulations their way.

“We also take this opportunity to once again acknowledge the achievement of the other Borough organisations who qualified as finalists. The Hoddesdon School Trust and The John Warner School have also been exemplary, and we’re confident that along with this year’s winners, they will continue to inspire other up-and-coming businesses locally and further afield.”
