Cobra Kai, the YouTube Original series set decades after the events of the original Karate Kid movies, has been renewed for a third season.

The series stars Ralph Macchio and William Zabka reprising their roles as Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence from the first two films.

The third season is set to premiere sometime in 2020. Will Smith, James Lassiter, Caleeb Pinkett, Susan Wkins, Macchio and Zabka are executive producers.

Season 2 of Cobra Kai debuted just over a week ago and it  HYPERLINK “https://screenrant.com/cobra-kai-season-2-review-karate-kid-william-zabka-ralph-macchio/” continued to defy expectations. The new batch of episodes showed Daniel forming a dojo of his own, Miyagi-Do, which fuelled the rivalry with Johnny even more. Meanwhile, the young cast of characters at the centre of the series, Johnny’s prized pupil Miguel (Xolo Maridueña), Johnny’s estranged son Robby (Tanner Buchanan), and Daniel’s daughter Samantha (Mary Mouser) each saw their stories progress in exciting ways. The ending clearly set the stage for more episodes, and fans of Cobra Kai can rest easy knowing that more are on the way.

In addition to Cobra Kai’s renewal, YouTube has announced that all of its upcoming original series and specials will become available for free with advertisements, similar to how regular videos are played on the service.

Seasons 1 and 2 of Cobra Kai will become free with ads beginning this autumn.
