The Kopa League Challenge Cup match between Anorthosis v Panathinaikos this week on Thursday 23rd of May 2019 at Haringey Borough FC at 7.45pm will be in memory of Kyriakos Spyrou who  sadly passed away this week 17th May 2019 at the age of 61.

The match is between the first division champions Anorthosis v Panathinaikos the second division champions and both teams will be hoping for a double.

Kyriakos was the Chairman of our community team New Salamis (London)  FC and a committtee member for several years. He was instrumental  in the club becoming one of our most successful clubs in our community winning  KOPA League titles galore  , winning the LFA Sunday Challenge Cup several times and the most prestigious Cup in Sunday football the FA Sunday Cup which was won at Selhurst Park the home of Crystal Palace.

He also oversaw the progress of New Salamis moving into FA Football League on Saturdays and after promotion from the Hetrs Senior County league will from next season be playing in the Spartan League five tiers below FA Football League Two.
