The biggest event in our community’s calendar, the Cypriot Wine Festival & Business Expo, is this weekend! Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd June 2019, there’s only one place to be, the Lee Valley Athletics Centre which will once again host this spectacular two-day event.

This year’s headline act is the spectacular Peggy Zina!

One of the top female pop artists of the past two decades, the popular songstress will be gracing the stage at the 37th CyWineFest, performing all her greatest hits live… Ela, Sou Hrostao Akoma Ena Klama, Eime Kala, Ego Ta Spao, Vres Ena Tropo, Matono, Poli Kala Pername and so many others…expect a fabulous show.

Peggy made her recording debut in 1995 with her self-titled album. To date, she has released fourteen studio albums. In March 2010, she was ranked the 24th top-certified female artist in the nation’s phonographic era, totalling nine platinum and two gold records.

Don’t miss her live this weekend!

And there’s a lot more to look forward to in the entertainment programme…

She’s supported Ed Sheeran at the Brit Awards, performed with UK rapper K-Koke alongside Yiannis Ploutarchos live on the CyWineFest stage, and now Elizabeth Chapman is back to perform her brand new single Efhome Na Pernas Kala.

Currently putting the final touches to her solo EP and preparing to release the first single Liar Liar, Kat Neocleous will be gracing our stage with her soulful tones, jazzy grooves, and raw-edged vocals

Eleni C has just completed the first leg of her European Tour and she’s extremely excited to be making her debut appearance at CyWineFest performing her new single One Last Time.

Also making his debut performance at our event is British-born Greek Cypriot vocalist Roger Grech, specialising in Greek and English classic songs from yesteryear.

Throughout his 15 year singing career, George Germanakis has collaborated with the likes of Stamatis Gonidis and Themis Adamantidis, and we are excited to welcome him onto our stage.

16 year old Tiana Lydia will be taking a break from revising for her GCSEs to join us live on Sunday.

Feel the spirit and authenticity of the Marathovounos Community Choir as they sing much loved traditional Cypriot songs during Saturday’s official opening.

Embrace Cypriot traditions with the Bi-communal Music and Folk Dance Association “Cyprus” who are flying in from our beautiful island especially for the event.

The Philhellenes Dance Group, having dedicated over 25 years to preserving the spirit and authenticity of Greek and Cypriot dances, will be bringing dances from mainland Greece, the islands and Cyprus to our stage.

Greek dance coach Mario Christou has taught many people over the last six years and he’s ready to get our visitors dancing a zeimbekiko or two!

Adding a modern twist to the festival is Platinum Performing Arts who support young people and provide them with a platform to boost their confidence and pursue their dreams in the world of theatre, film and television.

He sings, he smashes plates, he plays the bouzouki and he got a ‘yes’ from the Britain’s Got Talent judges…expect mayhem from Bambas Shaouna!

North Londoner Alex Jacovides will be showing off his bouzouzi skills and of course our resident DJ Chris Theoharous is back, this time with a host of LGR presenters to keep the party going throughout the two-day extravaganza.
